The Lindsay Memorial Foundation Lecture Series


AGI hosts engaging monthly lectures in both Montreal and Pointe-Claire on the West Island, featuring guest speakers discussing specialized and relevant topics related to dementia. These lectures are tailored for family caregivers, giving them the tools to enhance their lives with their loved one. We invite experts in each area to address caregivers and family members eager to learn more about these important issues.

Lectures are free and open to the public.

Caregiving and Stress: Managing Expectations

Join clinical psychologist Dr. Camillo Zacchia as he discusses some of the expectations that  caregivers may face and provides tools to reduce and manage caregiver stress.

About our speaker:

Dr. Zacchia is a clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression and interpersonal problems.

He received his PhD from McGill University in 1987. He was the chief psychologist for the Douglas Mental Health University Institute from 1997 to 2011 and chaired their Clinical Ethics Committee for a seven year period. He left that position in 2011 to develop and direct the Mental Health Education Office of the Institute.

As part of his role in public education, Dr. Zacchia gives frequent conferences, writes a bi-weekly column in the Montreal edition of Journal Métro (in French), and maintains a blog on mental health and human nature entitled Psychospeak with Dr. Z. (English).

Dr. Zacchia is vice-president of Phobies-Zéro, an organization that operates self-help groups and telephone support to sufferers of anxiety disorders.
