Community, Connectivity, Conversation: How to Live Well Through the Dementia Journey 

This half day, interactive on-line conference offers an opportunity to share experiences and access a range of award winning, evidence-based materials that enable people living with dementia and their families to continue to participate in the day-to-day activities that bring meaning and joy.

Biographies:

Claire Craig is a Professor of Design and Creative Practice in Health and Co-Director of Lab4Living in the UK. Her research focuses on the role of design in promoting quality of life and wellbeing, particularly in the context of people experiencing major life transitions. She is particularly interested in the role of the arts and creative practice in offering individuals living with dementia and their families an outlet for self-expression and a valued meaningful activity. Claire is a qualified occupational therapist. She has written a number of books in relation to her work including Meaningful Making: Journeying through Dementia, Exploring the Self through Photography and Creativity and Communication.

Patricia Belchior is an associate professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University and a researcher at the Centre de recherche de l'Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal (CRIUGM). Her current research work focuses on community-based interventions for older adults living with dementia and family members to promote life with meaning.
